Full
Available only when the number of Areas equals 0 and the system operates as a standard 3GS Installa-
tion. Full zones are instant Alarm zones which are active in Full Set mode only. See Alarm zone type for
further information.
Note: Any attributes applied to a Full zone type will only be active when the system is Full Set
Line
This is a line monitoring zone. Usually used in conjunction with a telephone line output from a digital
dialler or direct communications device. When opened during a full alarm, this will shorten the bell
delay to 1 second.
Note: If the “Service Reset” variable is set to 1, a LINE zone type generates a “Call Service” event and an
engineer will be required to clear the alert.
Alarm
Available only when the number of Areas is equal to 0. This is the normal Alarm zone and is active when
the system is in the Full Set mode. Any open, discon or tamper activity will cause a full alarm when the
system is Full Set/armed. When activated, the Alarm zone will trip the intruder alarm output (Output 1),
the External and Internal bell outputs (2 and 7), and the Common Area bell and strobe, if the “Common
Area” variable is set to YES. All attributes are assignable to Alarm zones.
Note: Alarm zone types are not active when System is Half or Part Set, or if Areas are in use. However,
the Alarm zone type may still be used where Part and Half Setting of System is performed as they will be
active when the system is Full Set, thus allowing a combination of Part, Half or Full Set modes on the sys-
tem. Note also that the Alarm zone may be active in Part and Half modes if certain attributes have been
assigned.
Fire
The Fire zone operates 24 hour fire monitoring independent of normal panel operation.
When opened, the Fire zone trips the Fire output (Output 5), displays warning messages, and automati-
cally opens all doors. Only the Inhibit attribute can be assigned to FIRE Zones.
.
Cabinet
The cabinet zone type is a normally closed zone type and is active in all zone modes. Any open DIS-
CON or TAMPER activity will cause a full alarm when set/armed. Only the Inhibit attribute can be
assigned to CABINET Zones.
Reset
The panel may be programmed to require an installer reset, after an alarm, before the panel may be re-
armed. This is normally performed by an installer entering his code at the panel. An alternative to this is
to open ’reset’ zone, which performs the same function. Only the Inhibit attribute can be assigned to
Reset Zones.
Tech
When opened, the Tech zone sets an output corresponding to its own number, so that for example
when Tech zone 100 opens, it will trip output 100. The output resets when the zone closes. Installers
should ensure that the output corresponding to the Tech zone is not already assigned to another func-
tion. Only the Inhibit attribute can be assigned to TECH Zones.
Spare
This zone type has effectively no function – opening and closing of the zone does not cause any activa-
tion. This type has been added to allow an engineer to initialise a zone on the system but without having
to assign it as a specific type. No Attributes can be assigned to SPARE Zones.
Log
This zone will log a state change in any mode in the Panel Log. Log zones can be used for monitoring.
No Attributes can be assigned to LOG Zones
