Raise the limb not examined and position on the lateral leg rest.
15 Place one or more cushions type P on the knee between the patella
and the coil and underneath if necessary. In cinematic examinations it
is very important that the area remains in the same position for all
angular positions.
16 Then lock the seat by pressing the rear brake and at least one of the
two front brakes (refer to chapter 6) to prevent any inadvertent
movement.

Wrap the large shielding strap around the thigh and the small shielding
strap on the calf, precisely at the point of the closure of the front and
rear shielding covers.
18 Position the insulating strap on the thigh (next to the large shielding
strap in the direction of the knee) and, if necessary, any standard
cushions between the calf and the gantry. The insulating strap may
partially overlap the shielding strap, provided that this overlap is
minimal.
19 Using the foot setting lock, secure the limb in the maximum extension
position between those selected for the cinematic examination and
ensure that this position is comfortable for the patient and in particular
does not cause vascular or nervous compression. In this case use a
smaller angle.

The fibro-cartilage plane must be positioned 1 cm (in the direction of
the foot) from the center of the coil being used.
W a r n i n g
To avoid possible burns, during knee examinations, place the
insulating strap around the thigh and ensure that there are no direct
contact surfaces with the front gantry frame.
Otherwise place standard cushions between the gantry frame and
thigh.
The calf may also create direct contact surfaces with the rear gantry
frame during knee examinations: in this case - to avoid the risk of
burns - place some standard cushions between the calf and gantry
frame.
