8.11.1 Design of the Control System
8.11.1.1 Motherboard
The motherboard (distributing center) transmits commands and receives commands from
the front board (operator commands).
Functions
(please see the following description and chapter 7).
• Replacing the EPROM
• General reset
• Replacing the motherboard
• Position of the potentiometers
• Adjustment instructions
Replacing the EPROM
The EPROM is very data-safe. Make sure that the EPROM is correctly inserted.
Remove the EPROM with an appropriate tool from the old motherboard and insert it care-
fully into the new motherboard; take care that the marking on the side points in the same di-
rection as all the other markings without bending a contact.
Do not remove the sticker as it covers the delete window.

To avoid any program faults the memory should be deleted as described in chapter 5 on
page 5-20 “Miscellaneous – deleting all CPU parameters”.
You can now check the functions with a new soldering process. If the fault reappears,
please contact the machine supplier. He will always be willing to help you.
Replacing the Motherboard
1. Remove the EPROM with an appropriate tool from the old motherboard and insert it
carefully into the new motherboard; take care that the marking on the side points in the
same direction as all the other markings without bending a contact. Do not remove the
sticker as it contains the E-Prom information and protects the delete window. Set all
DIL switches as they were set on the old board.

Setting the potentiometer:
(Position of the potentiometer, see figure 8.1 and chapter 7)
The board must have operating temperature.
Overheating monitoring
(potentiometer on multi-interface No. 82002 is factory-set)
Internal temperature measurement
(multi-interface)
potentiometer must be set counterclockwise at the limit stop.
