3. OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
3.1
FIRST TIME RUNNING
The monitor has been controlled and calibrated before delivery and standard-checked in the factory.
3.1.1 PRELIMINARY
OPERATIONS
Start-up consists, first of all, of making the following preliminary operations:
−
Check the inside of the analyzer visually to ensure that no element has been damaged during
transport
−
Remove the fluid input and output capsules of the monitor and keep them for possible storage
purposes (see chapter 1, paragraph 1.2.2)
3.1.2 ELECTRICAL
CONNECTIONS
3.1.2.1 Mains

Connect the power supply to a 230 V, 50 Hz earthed socket or to a 100 V, 60 Hz earthed socket,
according to the voltage specified in the order.
CAUTION: Respect the PHASE / NEUTRAL connections as any error will disturb the cut-
out
power
supplies.
3.1.2.2 Signal
connections

Connect the analog outputs (see configuration and calibration DAC 8 – Chapter 5).

Connect the logic inputs / outputs
−
Connect the serial link (RS 232 or RS 422) if necessary.
3.1.2.3
Connection of the analog inputs (external signals)

The analog inputs are referenced to the earth. They accept a maximum voltage of 5000 mV.
CAUTION: The maximum voltage at analog inputs DTP1, DTP2, DTP3 and DTP4 is 2500
mV.
3.1.3 PNEUMATIC
CONNECTIONS
−
Connect the gas cylinder of span gas or calibration system on the “span” input by using a PTFE 4/6
tube.
−
Connect the zero air (dry and oil-free air; dew point <-50°C and free of particles) to the «zero air»
input using a PTFE 4/6 tube.
−
Connect the sample to the “sample” input using a PTFE 2/4 tube
−
Connect a 4/6 tube to the “vent".

Connect the sample to the “sample” input using the heated line
−
Connect a 4/6 tube to the “vent".
−
Connect the ejector using a 4/6 tube. The required pressure is close to 4x103 hPa.
