WARNING: Only use hydraulic cylinders in a coupled
system. Never use a cylinder with unconnected
couplers. If the cylinder becomes extremely
overloaded, components can fail catastrophically causing
severe personal injury.
IMPORTANT: Hydraulic equipment must only be
serviced by a qualified hydraulic technician. For repair
service, contact the Authorized ENERPAC Service
Center in your area. To protect your warranty, use only
ENERPAC oil.
WARNING: Immediately replace worn or damaged
parts by genuine ENERPAC parts. Standard grade
parts will break causing personal injury and property
damage. ENERPAC parts are designed to fit properly and
withstand high loads.
3.0 DESCRIPTION
TURBO II air pumps are designed to power all standard fixture
workholding systems, operating both single- and double-acting
cylinders effectively.
Because of its ability to recycle its own exhaust air to improve its
efficiency, the 5,000 series TURBO II air pump is recommended for
production automation systems where input air pressure is limited.
The 3,000 Series TURBO II models are preferred for larger
hydraulic circuits requiring higher flow rates.
4.0 INSTALLATION
4.1 Air Supply
Required input operating air pressure range is 25 to 125 psi.
3000 Series
Hydraulic air ratio 50:1 (5000 psi hydraulic pressure at 120 psi air
pressure)
5000 Series
Hydraulic air ratio 72:1 (5000 psi hydraulic pressure at only 80 psi
air pressure)
An Enerpac regulator/filter/lubricator should be installed upstream
from the pump to provide clean, lubricated air and to allow for air
pressure adjustment.
4.2 Air Connection
See Figure 1A. Attach air supply to 1/4 NPT swivel connection on
the end of the pump. Use Teflon tape or similar thread sealant.
Torque to 20-25 ft.-lbs [27-34 Nm].
PARG Models: See Illustrations 1B and 1C. Attach air supply to
either 1/4 NPT connections on top rear to handle or 1/4 NPT
connection on bottom of air pendant. Make sure the unused port is
plugged.
4.3 Hydraulic Connections
WARNING: All hoses and components used with
these pumps must have a working pressure rating
higher than, or equal to, the maximum pressure rating
of the pump.
