If DHCP is disabled, the following connection parameters must be entered manually:
•
IP Address
: This is the IPv4 address that the control panel will take on. It is at the discretion of the
installer and is chosen according to the network context in which the control panel is installed. The
default password is 192.168.1.100.
•
Subnet Mask
: This is the parameter that defines the size of the IP subnet, meaning the range of
addresses, to which the control panel belongs. It is at the discretion of the installer and is chosen
according to the network context in which the control panel is installed. The default value is
255.255.255.0.
•
Gateway
: This is the IP address of the router that can be used to exit from the subnet to which the
control panel belongs. The default value is 192.168.1.1.
•
DNS1
: This is the IP address of the main DNS (Domain Name Server), i.e. the server used to translate
alphanumeric Internet addresses (e.g. elkron.it) into IP addresses. The default value 8.8.8.8 (Google).
•
DNS2
: This is the IP address of the secondary DNS, used when the primary DNS is unreachable. The
default value is 8.8.4.4. (Google).
4.4.2
WiFi Parameter
This can be used to configure the operating parameters of the control panel WiFi connection (wireless
connection of devices based on IEEE 802.11 standards, including modem routers).
It is accessed through the
CONFIGURATION
→ Central Unit → Connectivity
menu.
Figure 20 - WiFi parameters
The menu shows the following items and can be used to set:
•
Enable
: This can be used to enable and disable the connection to the WiFi network.
•
SSID (Network ID)
: This is the name used by the WiFi network to be identified by the various devices.
It is typically set in the modem router or WiFi access point. The list of WiFi networks detected by the
WiFi module is displayed.
•
Password
: This is the password with which the various devices access the WiFi network. It is typically
set in the modem router or WiFi access point.
•
DHCP (Automatic IP)
: This can be used to enable and disable the DHCP client (Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol), which allows the control panel to automatically receive the IP configuration
needed to establish the connection when it connects to a network where there is a DHCP server.
If DHCP is disabled, the connection parameters must be entered manually. For more details, see
