7.3.6 Periodic maintenance
• Periodic maintenance is essential. For this reason, strictly follow the maintenance schedule in
this user manual (see Chapter 11).
• The maintenance counter will assist in keeping track of the number of worked hours.
(Read Appendix E Principle of operation of the maintenance counter)
• When replacing parts as a result of wear or failure, always request genuine ELIET service parts
from your ELIET dealer. This is important in the interests of your own safety.
• Always ensure the engine has stopped and the battery cables are disconnected before perform-
ing repairs or maintenance. Always wait until the blades come to a complete standstill before
carrying out any operation.

7.3.7 Limits of the machine
• According to the manufacturer, this model will take branches up to 140 mm diameter. This
diameter must not be exceeded in the interest of your own personal safety and to ensure a long
life cycle of the machine.
• The chipper must only be loaded up to 70% of its maximum capacity when temperatures are
low and when there is frost.
• The machine weighs 450 kg. Bear this in mind when transporting the machine.

7.3.8 Preserving Nature
• Use the machine in a manner that respects environmental regulations.
a) Avoid unnecessary machine running while not at work.
(Go for Eliet’s Eco-eye™ option which will automatically put the engine in the idle position during
non-active moments.)
b) Avoid spilling fuel while refuelling.
c) When replacing/topping up the oil (engine or hydraulic fl uids), the spent oil should be taken to
specialised recycling centres.
