Immersion Heater Inspection
Due to uncontrollable circumstances, the
immersion heaters in the wash, rinse, and
optional chemical isolation tanks may become
warped due to uncontrollable circumstances.
When the immersion heaters are introduced or
subjected to varied increased or decreased
temperatures, warpage may occur over a period
of time.
CAUTION If the immersion heaters warp
excessively in the direction toward the
tank side wall or tank bottom,
overheating of the polypropylene may
occur thus causing warpage of the
tank wall, introducing the possibility of
a fire hazard.

Make a visual inspection of the immersion
heaters in the wash, rinse, and optional
chemical isolation tanks after the tanks
have been drained.

If immersion heater warpage is present, it
is imperative to replace the defective
heater.
Refer to the Corrective Maintenance
Section of this manual for the
Immersion Heater Replacement
Procedure.
CAUTION The formation of scale deposits on the
immersion heaters will reduce the heat
transfer capability to the surrounding
solution in the tank. This may lead to
premature burn out of the immersion
heaters and faulty float switch
operation.

Inspect the immersion heaters in the
wash, rinse, and optional chemical
isolation tanks for scale build-up.

If scale build-up is present on the
immersion heater(s), perform the
Descaling procedure in the Monthly
Maintenance Section of this manual, or
replace the immersion heater if it is
unsafe to operate.
Normal appearance of the immersion
heaters shoud be dark grey in color while
the heaters are wet.
If the immersion heaters still appear to
be white in color after descaling, the
immersion heater should be replaced.
