To adjust gamma
Gamma can be adjusted. The brightness of the monitor varies depending on the input signal,
however, the variation rate is not simply proportional to the input signal. The control performed to
keep the balance between the input signal and the brightness of the monitor is called “Gamma
correction”.
Setting
Purpose
1.6 to 2.7
Set the gamma value.
Adobe®RGB
Set the gamma curve defined by Adobe®RGB.
sRGB
Set the gamma curve defined by sRGB.
EBU
Set the gamma curve defined by EBU.
REC709
Set the gamma curve defined by REC709.
REC1886
Set the gamma curve defined by REC1886.
SMPTE-C
Set the gamma curve defined by SMPTE-C.
DCI
Set the gamma curve defined by DCI.
Procedure
1. Choose “Color” from the Adjustment menu, and press

2. Choose “Gamma” from “Color”, and press

The gamma curve can be adjusted to L* by using SelfCalibration or ColorNavigator 6. For details,

L* is a gamma curve defined in CIE1976 that is perceptually uniform.

To set color gamut
Set the color reproduction area (color gamut). “Color gamut” is the range of colors that devices such
as monitors, digital cameras and printers can express. Various standards are defined.
Setting

Display images in the monitor’s original color gamut.
Adobe®RGB
Display images in the color gamut defined by Adobe®RGB.
sRGB
Display images in the color gamut defined by sRGB.
EBU
Display images in the color gamut defined by EBU.
REC709
Display images in the color gamut defined by REC709.
REC1886
Display images in the color gamut defined by REC1886.
SMPTE-C
Display images in the color gamut defined by SMPTE-C.
DCI
Display images in the color gamut defined by DCI.
