XSTORAGE HOME 3P INSTALLATION MANUAL
MN700009EN August 2020 www.eaton.com
00 Title
To ensure optimal Wi-Fi connectivity, make sure that the Wi-Fi signal available near the installation of
the xStorage Home 3P system is high enough to allow a stable connection. For this purpose, during the
configuration of the network parameters, the scanning and selection of the Wi-Fi network carried out by
the xStorage Home 3P reports the signal strength of the wireless network to which you intend to connect:
select a network with signal strength S > - 60 dBm.
If the detected signal is weak (S < -60 dBm), the
connection is not guaranteed and therefore it is necessary to provide for the use a Wi-Fi repeater.
If the configuration operations are carried out correctly, the effective connection to the local Wi-Fi network
is shown by the Wi-Fi icon (icon highlighted) on the status bar of the display and by the stable lighting of the
blue LED on the control panel.
If the Wi-Fi connection is weak and / or not very stable, alternatively the xStorage Home 3P inverter can
access a wired local network via the LAN port allowing to activate the remote connection functions and
system monitoring.
Several xStorage Home 3P inverters can be connected in parallel on the same distribution network in
order to create a plant of nominal power equal to the sum of the nominal power of the individual xStorage
Home 3P inverters connected in parallel. The respective HV battery is connected to each xStorage Home
3P inverter. The energy management between the various devices and batteries is managed in Primary
and Secondary mode where one of the inverters acts as Primary unit and the other inverters operate as
Secondary units.
See the connection instructions shown in
Figure 16
.
See the connection instructions shown in

Insert the network cable from the router into the LAN port and wait for the system to recognize the
connection (NETWORK icon highlighted).
The multi-xStorage Home 3P inverter system uses an external energy meter to monitor the energy
flows between the home loads and the distribution grid to implement the available operating modes.
The data from the energy meter are shared between the units connected in parallel through the external
CAN communication connection. An external energy management system might be required to ensure
communication between each xStorage Home 3P system.
To set the correct operation of the connection it is necessary to access the “SETTINGS” configuration menu
and set the networking parameters of the “LAN” menu based on the characteristics of the local network to be
accessed. Please refer to the xStorage Home 3P user interface display manual, “NETWORKING” section.
If the configuration operations are carried out correctly, the effective connection to the local LAN is shown
by the NETWORK icon (icon highlighted) on the status bar of the display and by the stable lighting of the
blue LED on the control panel.
