MOUNTING OF THE LIFT FRAME (PREMOUNTED PLATFORM)
•
Bring the shipping skid with the liftgate to the rear of the vehicle.
•
Manually unfold the foldable platform with its 2 platform sections to check for a level platform. Then unfold the flip-over point.
NOTICE
•
When manipulating the liftgate with a forklift or hoists etc… be very careful, and make sure you don’t damage the cylinder
safety
valves, hydraulic pipes, and other damageable components.
•
There are many methods that can be used to remove the
liftgate from the shipping skid.
•
A hoisting sling can be threaded through the frame and the
lift arm (highlighted below) to carefully remove the lift from the
skid.
•
The platform can be supported by the two forward-most posts
on the provided shipping skid to easily clamp / affix to the
preferred lifting method.
•
(1) Use protection between the platform and the top of the
posts to avoid causing damage to the liftgate.
•
(2) Lift the liftgate out of the inclined cradle of the skid. Shift it
forward and position it on the horizontal tubes of the skid.
WARNING
•
The platform and attached lift frame are very heavy! In the current mounting position, the platform open-assist springs are not
helpful. When falling on a person, they can cause serious personal injury or death.
•
Therefore, handle the platform and attached lift frame with care. Use lifting aids such as a forklift, gantry crane, hoists and clamps
etc… to assist you through the unfolding movement
s.
•
If the platform does not appear level to the lift
frame tube after unfolding, it may be
necessary to adjust the bolts used to level the
platform.
•
Remove the bolt assembly to easily adjust
the jam nuts, then reinstall.
•
Run the bolts in a sufficient amount to allow
the platform to rest in a level state.
•
Tighten the jam nuts against the platform to
ensure the bolts will not back out.
