RAMP SETPOINT SETTING
The Setpoint SP is provided with a Ramp function controlling the PV after any modification of
the setpoint SP value, untilthe new value in reached. At the same time, this function allows to
control the process variable PV increment (pre-heating) or decrement (cooling).
The determine the Ramp function, the slope value of the ramp should be introduced in Unit/
Time with which the setpoint will increase until reaching the setpoint SP value (Local or
Remote).
This function is disabled when
[P 06]
is set to
[0000]
. Limits between 0.0 and 999.9 U/t Unit
per time.
- In
[ConF] [SP 1..2..3]
in parameter
[P 06]
introduce in
[nnnn]
the required value in
U/t
Unit
per time, with the number of decimals defined in
[P 02]
.
●
Setting of the Time Base of the Ramp Setpoint Function.
Allow to select the unit of Time of the Ramp Setpoint.
- In
[ConF] [SP 1..2..3]
in parameter
[P 02]
select in
[n???]
the requiredc Time Base.
- For a Time Base expressed in seconds select
[0???]
,
in minutes
[1???]
, and in hours
[2???]
.
●
Calculation of the value of “Ramp Setpoint Function”
When a
U/t
Unit /Time is set, and the instrument is turned on, the ramp function generates
a lineal setpoint starting from Zero until reaching the
SP (L or R)
value, where the process is
controlled normally at the SP.
Any modification in the SP value, will activate the Ramp function, controlling the PV according
to the Ramp setpoint until the new SP value, whether this value is greater or smaller than the
origin SP.
Examples of Ramp calculation
It is required a Ramp slope of 12.5 ºC /min.
- Introduce
[012.5]
in
[P 06]
. Time Base in minutes
[1???]
in
[P 02]
. Decimals
[?1??]
in
[P 02]
.
For example, calculation of Ramp setpoint function in a determined time.
Calculate the difference between the SP value in origin and the new SP value . Divide the
difference (in physical units) by the time, in seconds, required for the variable to cover this
difference. Introduce the result in
[nnnn] [P 06]
as U/t Unit/Time.
If the result has no enough resolution, change the Time Base to minutes or to hours in
[P 02]
[n???]
.
