10 Operations using the Web-based User Interface
10.1 Requirements
10.1.1 Hardware
The web interface operates on any common PC or Notebook with a network card or a
WLAN card.
10.1.2 Software
The web-based user interface can be used with any common operating system, such
as MS Windows, Linux, OS X ..., and functions with all common, current browsers.
10.1.3 Connecting to the AST40 sequence controller
The computer on which the web-based user interface is running can either be connected
directly to the AST40 sequence controller or can be connected via a common network.
In the case of a direct connection, both crossed and uncrossed cables can be used; the
AST40 sequence controller independently recognizes it and establishes the connection
accordingly.
10.2 Preparing to use the web interface
To use the web-based user interface, both the AST40 sequence controller and the
browser must be installed in such a way that a TCP/IP connection between both of these
can be established and the exchange of data is enabled.
10.2.1.1 Setting up the AST40 sequence controller
A fixed IP address must be set up in the AST40 sequence controller (also see
and "Getting Started for Commissioning"). It must be assigned by the
administrator of the local network. At the time of delivery the following values are preset:
IP address of master control unit: 10.10.25.100
Subnet
mask:
255.255.0.0
Gateway:
10.10.20.9
10.2.1.2 Setting the browsers/operating systems
The browser must have free access to the ASTS40 sequence controller, i.e.
• it must be possible to reach the IP address of the AST40 sequence controller.
• the HTTP protocol must not be deactivated
• a possible proxy must be disabled for the IP address for the AST40 sequence
controller (or general local addresses).
The browser must accept cookies from the AST40 sequence controller and the JavaScript
must be activated. In case of doubts contact your responsible IT representative.
