Associating VxFlex OS volumes with physical disks

This section describes how to associate volumes with physical disks.

Contact VxFlex OS Customer Support for access to the troubleshooting utility.

To get VxFlex OS volume information, run the

scli --query_all_volumes

(or

query_all

--query_volume

) command.

Output similar to the following appears:

This output shows the Volume ID and name, as well as other volume information.

Volume information - Linux

On the SDC host, run the following command to get the operating system volume
information that correlates to the VxFlex OS scini device name:

ls -l /dev/disk/by-id/ |grep scini

Output, similar to the following appears:

This output shows the scini volume name and the volume ID.

By matching the volume ID in both outputs, you can match the operating system
names, sciniX, with the VxFlex OS volume name.

For example:

scinia = fac22a6300000000 = vol0

scinic = fac22a6400000001 = vol1
