3. In Hardware view, in the node list on the left side of the window, click the faulty
node that you identified in the previous step.
4. In the node's property sheet on the right side of the window, find the node's
management IP address.
5. In the Node Properties, if the node has a Standby role, perform the following.
Otherwise, continue with step 6 on page 191
a. Right-click the faulty server and select Remove Standby.
This removes the Standby node from the cluster and removes the MDM.
b. Verify that all mapped volumes have been removed from the failed node.
6. In Hardware view, right-click the faulty server and select Remove VxFlex OS
Software, then click OK.
This process performs the following:
l
Removes the SDS from the system.
l
Removes the SDS software from the server.
l
Unconfigures and removes the SDC from the server.
l
Reboots the server.
l
Removes the SDC from the system.
Note: This may trigger a rebalance. Wait until the rebalance process
completes before continuing. This may take over 24 hours, which will cause
a timeout error to be displayed for the Remove command.
7. After the rebuild/rebalance completes, repeat the Remove VxFlex OS
Software procedure in the previous step.
8. When the process completes successfully, a message is displayed. Click Close.
9. From the VxFlex OS GUI Hardware view, identify the node in the data center:
a. Right-click the node and select Set Identification LED.
b. In the Set Identification LED dialog box, select Turn On, and then click OK.
10. Complete node removal through the AMS.
