Install the license - using the VxFlex OS GUI

Before you begin

Before you begin this procedure, ensure that you have the license key from Dell EMC.
Getting a license key involves receipt of an LAC (License Authorization Code) email
from Dell EMC, and then either downloading the license key from the Dell EMC
website, or receiving it by email from Dell EMC.

For more information about obtaining a license key, see the "Licensing" chapter.

About this task

This topic explains how to add the license to an existing VxFlex OS system. A license is
mandatory for a VxFlex OS system used in a production environment.
To add a license to the system, perform the following steps:

Procedure

1. From the System Settings menu at the top right side of the window, in any

view, select the System Settings option.

The System Settings window is displayed.

2. In the left panel, click License.

The Set License panel is displayed on the right side of the window.

3. From the license activation email, or from the downloaded file, copy the license

key and paste it in the Update License box.

a. When copying from the license key file ( 

*.lic

), open the file in a text

editor, and copy all the text in the file.

4. Click Save.

Results

The license has been added to your system.

Setting the vCenter

In the System Settings, you can configure the vCenter.

About this task

When using a Linux system, it is recommended to configure the vCenter when there
are ESX SDCs connected to the storage system.

Procedure

1. From the System Settings menu at the top right side of the window, in any

view, select the System Settings option.

The System Settings window is displayed.

2. In the left panel, click vCenter.

The Set vCenter panel is displayed on the right side of the window.

3. Enter the vCenter IP address and the credentials.

You can test the connection by clicking Test Connection.
