Replacing the processor and heat sink
The processor controls memory, peripheral interfaces, and other system components.
The system can have more than one processor configuration.
The heat sink absorbs the heat generated by the processor, ad helps the processor
maintain its optimal temperature level.
The following table describes the heat sinks and supported processors.

For GPU configuration

2U heat sink
For non-GPU configuration

Dual processor configuration
The system will function normally if there are two processors installed in the CPU 1
and 2 sockets. Processor and memory blanks associated with CPU 3 and 4 are not
required to be installed. For information on the expansion card slots supported on dual
processor, see

Quad processor configuration
For quad processor configurations, all installed risers will be functional.
Processor replacement procedural checklist
To replace the processor, perform the tasks in the following checklist, in the order
they are listed.

This FRU procedure requires you to perform mandatory software tasks in VxFlex
