9.6 Advanced examples
9.6.1 Example 1: Activate an external component until push-button is pressed
Introduction
In this example CustomLogic is configured to activate an external component connected to a digital output on the controller if
there are no unacknowledged alarms.
The user starts the procedure by pressing push-button 1. The user then has 10 seconds to confirm the procedure with push-
button 2. If push-button 2 is pressed within the time limit and there are no unacknowledged alarms on the controller the digital
output is activated. The digital output remains active until the user presses push-button 3.
Logic restrictions
• If the user activates push-button 2 before the procedure is started, and keeps it activated while starting the procedure, the
digital output will not be enabled.
• If there is an unacknowledged alarm on the controller, the digital output will not activate.
• If the procedure has been started, the digital output can be enabled and disabled multiple times during the timer interval.
• If push-button 1 is pressed during the timer interval, the interval time will
not
be extended.
• If push-button 3 (to deactivate the external device) is activated when the digital output is enabled, the digital output will still
be enabled. The digital output is returned to not enabled after push-button is deactivated and activated again.
