OPERATING MANUAL

Buttons provided by the APPLIED PARTS editor are:

AP1:

Pressing this button causes the QWERTY touch keypad to be displayed. The
user may enter up to seven letters and/or digits as a name for the patient-
applied part (e.g. ECG lead; sensor; etc.) that you will connect to jack AP1 of
ES601

Plus

.

Only the name can be entered via this menu, and only if the corresponding

GROUP

is "ENABLED". If the part is "DISABLED", a name entered by the

QWERTY keypad will be rejected.

AP2-10:

As above for button AP1.

EDIT:

Enter the GROUPS editor menu, described following.

BACK:

Returns to the menu for leakage test conditions.

NEXT:

Advances ES601

Plus

to the next step of the leakage test.

IEC, AAMI and VDE safety standards require applied parts or patient leads to be tested in related

For IEC and VDE safety standards, Groups are organized by

m e d ic al fu n c tio n

: ECG, defib

paddles, blood pressure transducer, etc. ES601

Plus

provides connections for up to ten applied parts

via the AP jacks located on the front panel, where the AP jacks can be organized in up to

five

functional Groups.

For the AAMI standard, there are only two Groups defined, organized by

: Group 1 is pre-assigned to patient leads which are

electrically isolated

from AC supply

ground (protective earth); Group 2 is pre-assigned to patient leads which are

not

isolated from

ground.

The assignment of applied parts to Groups is indicated on the APPLIED PARTS editor menu. Part
assignments can be changed by pressing the

EDIT

button on the menu, which then displays the

GROUPS editor:
