6.6. Local Digital Loopback – LDL

The local digital loopback is used to test the external link and both directions of data transmission. Figure
18 shows an example of the test conditions.

6.7. Operation via terminal

The terminal can configure, monitor and test aggregate interfaces. It also provides information about what
cards are installed.

DM16E1 and DM4E1 accept both optic and electric aggregate interfaces. Configurations for both types are
the same. This chapter can be used as reference for the configuration of electric aggregate interfaces.

For further information on how to open the configuration menus, see chapter 3.10.2.

•

Operation Mode: Configures the aggregate interface as either Main or Backup. For operation

without backup, the single aggregate interface must be configured as Main; when two aggregate
interfaces are in operation, one must be configured as Main and the other as Backup.
