DM16E1 / DM4E1 Operation and Installation Manual - 204-4001-19

In the DM16E1 model, the position in the table is always directly related to the tributary. In the DM4E1
model, it is related to the symbols G1, G2, G3 and G4.

Enabling of the tributaries depends on their presence in the table. The panel led will remain off for
tributaries absent from the table or used with inverse multiplex.

It is important to bear in mind that the transmission and reception paths involve all the units in a ring
configuration. For this reason, DM16E1B is set to “-“, establishing a Point to Point link between A and C.

Tributary 11 of unit B could also be enabled, thereby operating the E1 channels of A, B and C in cascade.
This type of operation is discouraged, because a fault in any of the cables will cause the three units to fail.

Next, the E1 ports of units A and C must be configured using the /settings/ports/E1 menu. The E1 G.703
tributaries are always in slot 3.
