Va Fixed Speed Compressor (controlling return or discharge temp):
C1 On: The variable compressor (C1) turns on when the temperature rises above
the Se Deadband.
Note if the Energy Saver mode is running (Wtr Vlv configured as Engy Svg Cool or
Aux Chill Wtr in factory menu). The variable compressor turns on when the return
air temperature rises above the Se De Stage To Stage s
1.0°F. It turns off when the return air temperature drops below the Setpoint.
C2 On: As temperature continues to rise, the variable compressor will run faster to
maintain setpoint. Once modulation reaches 95% and the temperature is above
the Se De The Stage-to-Stage setting for the
“C2 On Delay”
setting, the fixed speed compressor is started. In anticipation of the added cooling
of C2, the variable compressor will run at minimum modulation for the Delay
Modulation time setting (default or 60 seconds) in the factory settings menu.
C2 Off: The Fixed speed compressor (C2) will turn off when the temperature drops
below the Setpoint minus the C2 Offset setting (default of 1.0°F) for the duration of
the C2 Off Delay time setting. However, the compressor must finish the minimum
run time setting before it can turn off. In anticipation of loss in cooling from turning
C2 off, the variable compressor will run at a minimum of 75% modulation for the
C1 Boost Time setting (default of 60 seconds) in the factory settings menu.
C1 Off: The variable speed compressor (C1) turns off when the temperature drops
below the Setpoint minus The C1 Offset setting (default of 2.0°F) for the duration
of the C1 Off Delay (default of 60 seconds). However, the compressor must finish
the minimum run time setting before it can turn off.
Note: Because it is variable speed, C1 will always be the lead compressor
(compressor rotation feature is disabled). However, C2 can be forced to run if it
has not been used for the period of the
“Exercise Time”. The default setting is for
exercise to be disabled. It can be enabled in the factory menu.
Modulation of the variable compressor to control temperature will be by a PID
algorithm (defaulted to not use derivative action). The tuning parameters for this
algorithm are in the Factory Setting menu, Variable Compressor screen.
Note: Due to oil management functions of the VFD, the compressor speed may
vary from the temperature modulation requirement periodically.
