PROVISIONING VIA TEXT MENU
The upper part of this window displays the current status of the fiber port, whether the link is up
or down, the status of OAM function, and FEF status. The lower part of the window has the setting
options which are explained below.
<1>
Port Active : When disabled, this port will no longer transfer any data and the link will be down.

Auto Laser Shutdown : This safety feature, when enabled, will disable the transmit laser if
there is no received signal. It is also referred to as 'ALS'.

OAM Mode : The OAM can be disabled or enabled. Within an OAM broadcast link, there
should only be one 'active' unit and other unit should be 'passive'.

Remote Loopback Test : This function enables or disables the remote OAM loopback test.
When active, OAM loopback frames are sent and the remote equipment should acknowledge
them. The link integrity can be confirmed without using IP protocol. OAM loopback is non-
intrusive to normal Ethernet traffic.

Ingress/Egress Rate Limit : These bandwidth control settings are explained in more
detail under 3.4.8 Fiber Port Rate Limiting.
<7>
Default Port CoS : The Class of Service is a 3 bit field within an Ethernet frame header when
using 802.1Q tagging. The field specifies a priority value of between 0 and 7 inclusive that can be
used by Quality of Service (QoS) disciplines to differentiate traffic. When 802.1Q is not enabled,
