5. For Traditional Duct, slowly rotate the motor speed regulator knob counter
clockwise (Figure 51 page 29) to engage tractor drive and increase speed. Push 50
to 100 Feet (15 m to 30 m) into conduit. Open needle valve (Figure 89)
completely to allow air flow to the air block.
6. Maintain control of cable reel to ensure smooth, stable flow. Failure to do so may
cause cable to unwind off of spool too quickly. Continue to control cable speed
with the flow control knob.
7. For Micro Duct, slowly rotate the motor speed regulator knob counter clockwise
to engage tractor drive and increase speed. When speed slows open needle valve
to allow 1-2 bar into air block. Continue this method until you have opened
needle valve completely or fiber has exited. DO NOT INCREASE AIR MORE THAN
1-2 BAR AT A TIME.
Never wrap line around your hand, arm, foot, or leg. Severe personal injury
or death could result from entanglement.
Always wear protective equipment: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes
and work gloves.
8. When the observer indicates the Cable has exited the Conduit, (air pressure will
decrease) do not shut the air off if you are going to be figure eighting. Grab the
cable and start walking the figure eight out. DO NOT SHUT AIR OFF UNTIL YOU
ARE DONE. ONCE DONE, turn tractor drive off, by using the motor speed regulator
(Figure 91).
9 . Turn off compressed air (Figure 92).
Air Block Assembly contains compressed air when blower is operated.
Opening Air Block while under pressure may cause serious personal injury. Ensure
blower is depressurized before removing Air Block cover.
