Functional Test
The ACom offers a large variety of configuration and connection options. You should
therefore confirm that it functions properly and according to your requirements before
you put it into service. This way you ensure that the ACom will give you the required
service in case of an alarm.
Check the following functions:

the ACom can be accessed (by dialling) in remote mode
❚
the ACom transmits all the required data
❚
the ACom dials the alarm numbers as saved
❚
the ACom responds to alarm events according to the configuration
❚
CMConnect ensures correct control of cameras and other peripherals (where applica-
ble)
❚
ACom6H and ACom6HA: the optional hard disc saves the data as specified in the
configuration
❚
Service and user password protect the ACom from unauthorised access

Attention!
Make sure that the service switch is always switched to Betrieb . Otherwise,
the password does not protect the ACom from unauthorized access any-
more.
MFD-Control
Modern telecommunications networks support Multi-Frequency Dialling (MFD). This
means that on dialling you are hearing a succession of high-pitch tones. The models
ACom6A and ACom6HA allow you to enter simple control or configuration commands
by using the dial of a telephone if you are operating them via an ISDN-line. The ACom
confirms correct commands by a brief answer signal and responds to non-valid com-
mands with a long tone.

Important
You can only control the ACom by using a telephone dial if the connection sup-
ports MFD. If you are calling from a public phone, you may have to change the
dialling method to MFD.
Before controlling the ACom by MFD, you will have to identify yourself by entering your
password. A user password gives you access to some of the control functions of the
MFD-code. A service password gives you access to all MFD-codes.
