Example:
In the course of a burglary in your home, the ISDN-line is short-circuited at a free ISDN-
socket, thus paralysing all additional ISDN-connections. Only the first device (e.g., an
ACom installed in your basement) is not affected and still capable of emitting an alarm.
• Put the plug into the socket
ISDN IN
of the ACom and the phone socket until they
snap in with a clearly audible “click“.
• If necessary, connect additional appliances to the socket
ISDN OUT
of the ACom.
Modem
If you cannot use the ISDN for ACom, you may alternatively connect an analog modem
to the serial interface
COM1
. Data transmission via analog phone networks, however, is
considerably slower. This is why connections via analog networks does not support the
transmission of audio data. Video data and configuration parameters, meanwhile, are
transmitted as they would be with an ISDN-line.
The system supports all modems with an asynchronous RS232-interface and which op-
erate with the Hayes command set. Once you have connected the modem, ACom auto-
matically recognizes it and sets the highest possible data transmission speed.

Important
For best results, use modems of an identical make on either side of the data
transmission process.
Screen
You can connect a local surveillance monitor to the video output
OUT
of the ACom, if you
want to check the camera pictures during the installation in situ.
• Remove terminal block from socket.
• Put signal conductor on terminal V.
• Put shield on terminal

• Insert terminal block in socket.
• Lead cable around the pivot several times (to reduce tensile loads and stresses).
Alarm Inputs
The alarm inlets of the ACom allow you the intrusion of one or several alarm triggers such
as door contacts or sensors. If you configure the system accordingly, an alarm trigger
can for instance cause the automatic establishment of a connection between ACom and
CMConnect.
