7.4  APPENDIX D: INSTALLATION OF OMT 

Operation and Maintenance Terminal (OMT) is windows-based software designed for the control and 
maintenance of Comba repeaters. Installed in a PC, it performs the operation on the repeat either by local 
connection via RS232 cable or remote connection via wireless modem.  
 
 
Main Functions in OMT: 
 

z

 

To configure and adjust the repeater’s operating parameters 

z

 

To check the repeater’s operating status 

z

 

To configure and detect the software network parameters 

z

 

To download MCU firmware 

 
 

7.4.1 ENVIRONMENT FOR OMT OPERATION 

 
Before installation of OMT, ensure the following requirements for running OMT software are met. 
 

a) Minimal Hardware Requirements: 

 

z

 

CPU:  Pentium 2 processor at 300MHz   

z

 

RAM: 128 MB 

z

 

HDD: 1GB  

z

 

VGA: 14 inch, with 800×600 resolution 

z

 

Serial cable (labelled "9122”) supplied with equipment 

z

 

Modem (either type may be used) 

¾

 

Wireline modem : 56K modem 

¾

 

Wireless modem : Wavecom wireless modem, SIM card supporting datalink and SMS functions 

 

 

b) Operating System (OS) Requirements: 

 
English version of the following OS has been tested:

Win Me

Windows NT Workstation / Windows NT Server 

z

 

Windows 2000 Professional with SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4
