With Alpine Up you can abseil in a classic way: it works like a classic tuber descender and must be combined with a Prusik knot.
During abseiling at all times hold firmly the free end of the rope in your hand!

Belay yourself to the belay
station, install the device
as in 8.1÷ 8.4 and tie
a Prusik knot on the rope
below the device.
Tension the Prusik knot
with both hands so that
you can be suspended on
the rope.
With one hand hold firmly
the free end of the rope,
than release the sling and
disconnect the karabiner
from the belay station.
Control the Prusik knot
with one hand on the
rope; with the other hand
control the rate of descent.

During the abseiling at all times hold the free end of the rope in your hand!

Before starting clim-

With one hand pull the free
end of the rope through the
device; with the other pull the
climber’s rope towards the
device.
