IB-SYSTEM-R 

3.6 Optic adaptor 

The Fibre Optic adaptor allows system data communication over Fibre Optic cables. It works 
at  a  wavelength  of 

850  nm

  using 

Multimode

  Optical  Fibre  (

62.5/125  μm

)  and 

ST

  optical 

connectors. The max distance allowable between 2 adaptors is 

3 Km

.  

It is possible to mount the fibre optic adaptor IB-FO on the rear of the back panel with the ST 
optical  connectors  located  upward  or  downward,  just  by  plugging  it  onto  the  two  connectors 
OPTO1 and OPTO2 and fastening it with two screws. 

 
 
 

 

 

 
 
It  is  not  necessary  to  change  any  of  the  system  configuration  when  installing  the  IB-FO 
adaptor and all the RS 485 lines are still working.
