2.2.1 Terminal Installation  

During the system installation process it is possible to use a serial terminal in order to verify the 
server activity and system configuration. In order to use this function enable the serial terminal on 
the  server  (DIP  3  of  SW4  set  ON),  connect  a  normal  PC  to  the  RS485  SERVER  line  (see  3.5 
Relay signalling page 64) through an RS232/485 converter, or by using a flat cable directly on the 
back side of IB-System-R. 
The following figure shows the interconnections between the computer and the server terminals.

Start the Hyper Terminal program (start -> programs -> accessories -> communication -> Hyper 
Terminal),  set  communication parameters to 9600bps, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity,  no data 
flow control, as shown below.
