Select the “Local echo” box and press OK.
Now the terminal is ready to be used to check the server configuration.
Enter
#hel
and press ENTER in order to verify that the connections and the terminal set up is
correct: the server answers displaying the HELP page.
Every command starts with the special character # followed by a 3 character word,
take care
because spaces are very important.
The following is a brief explanation of the server commands.
#hel
Shows the help page, this page summarises the command list schematically.
#res
Reset the system to factory values.
Warning
: this operation deletes any previous configuration.
#tes
Performs the island test.
Useful during the installation process of a new system to verify that all the islands work correctly:
the test will require a few seconds during which all indicators associated with connected islands
must light. Warning: in order to perform this operation it is necessary to disconnect all the field
devices from the system, but the hub card must be inserted in order to guarantee the connection
with the islands.
#add
Allows a device to be added to the system configuration.
Enter the device identifier separated by a space. Eg: "#add 23" adds device 23 to the system
configuration; this operation may require a few seconds to be executed.
#ala
Prints out the configured device alarm list.
This is also useful in order to see which and how many devices have been configured in the
system. In the alarm list there are two columns: on the left are printed the current alarms, on the
right accumulated alarms since this command was last used.
