7 - MAINTENANCE

Parking brake

Check the operation of the parking brake every 1000 hours of operation.

1.

Make sure the area is clear of other workers or by-
standers.

2.

Disconnect the connector for Spring Applied Hy-
draulic Release (SAHR) brake solenoid on the
transmission. For detailed instructions, refer to page

7-102

.

3.

Ensure the operator's seat is in the loader operation
position and fasten the seat belt.

4.

Disengage four wheel drive, if equipped.

5.

Place the direction control lever in neutral and the
transmission in 3rd gear.

6.

Start up the engine.

7.

Ensure the loader bucket and three point hitch are
raised in preparation of forward travel.

8.

Place the direction control lever in forward and in-
crease the engine speed to

1500 RPM

. The machine

must not move. Contact your dealer for service as
needed.

9.

Connect the SAHR brake solenoid to the transmis-
sion. The connector must be attached before return-
ing the machine to operation. For detailed instruc-
tions, refer to page

7-102

.

10.

Test the parking brake to ensure it engages and dis-
engages correctly. For example, transmission is de-
clutched when the parking brake is applied.
