A Low Ink Message Does Not Disappear

Check Point

Solution

You replaced the ink cartridge before the
no ink error message appeared.

If the ink cartridge is replaced after the low ink
message but before the no ink error message, the
printer will not be able to accurately report the ink
supply messages. If you forget and replace the ink
cartridge before it is empty, immediately after
installing the new ink cartridge be sure to reset the
ink level warning display to remove the low ink
message.

5.4 Resetting the Ink Level Warning Display

If you have used the printer for a while without
resetting the ink level display warning, you do not
need to reset the warning any more and continue to
use it until the no ink error message appears. When
the no ink error message appears, replace the
empty ink cartridge with a new one. The no ink error
message as well as the low ink message will
disappear.

After you reset the ink level warning display, if the
computer displays a message that tells you that the
connected printer does not support the Resets Ink
Level Warning Display function and this function can
be used after the firmware is updated. Update the
firmware first and perform the Resets Ink Level
Warning Display procedure. For details about how
to update the printer firmware, please contact the
dealer where you purchased the printer or the
nearest service center.
