Port Test to check "Bridge Ports" Functionality
1. Make sure any VoIP phone traffic or critical internet traffic is not in progress.
2. Disconnect all Network Cables from the Vertex unit.
3. Reconnect the Router cable to the Switch, to re-establish VoIP calls and internet traffic.
4.
Connect the "Data Out" network cable to one of the "Internet" ports. Refer to Diagram below.
5. In VCT, use Menu selection
Tools \ Port Test
.
6. Select the
Test Now
button.
The results will show the functionality of all 3 ports on the Vertex.
•
Port 1 is the Management Port
.
•
Port 2 is the VoIP Bridge Port marked "Towards Gateway".
•
Port 3 is the VoIP Bridge Port marked "To Phones".

LED Boot up sequence for Firmware Versions 92 and above
Vertex is set for Static IP
•
2 Seconds ON
•
Slow flash until ready
•
Steady ON
Vertex is set for DHCP
•
2 Seconds ON
•
Fast Flash for 4 seconds
•
LED goes OFF while negotiating DHCP
−
If DHCP is acquired
-
LED immediately goes steady ON.
−
If DHCP fails
- LED flashes fast for 4 seconds, then goes steady ON.
