Overpressurization
Select the Pressurization Source to
MANUAL. Control pressurization
with the manual toggle switch.
If still overpressurized, select Pres-
surization Source to LH or RH; con-
trol cabin pressure with throttle.
Attempt to control cabin pressure
with the appropriate throttle by
reducing power, thereby letting a
smaller amount of air into the air-
plane to pressurize the cabin.
Descend below 43,000 feet.
Note that rapid throttle movements
above 43,000 feet with the bleed
valve selected OFF may result in
engine surges. The surges will not
damage the engine.
If unable to control, don Oxygen
Masks at 100% OXYGEN. Set the
Oxygen Control Valve to MANUAL
DROP. Ensure passengers are
receiving oxygen. Visually check
mask drop has occurred. Set the
Oxygen Microphone Switches to
MIC OXY MASK in order to use
microphone in oxygen mask.
Set the passenger advisory light
(PASS SAFETY) ON, and the Pres-
surization Source Selector to OFF,
and descend.
If still overpressurized set the Emer-
gency Dump Switch to DUMP.
This switch manually opens the nor-
mal dump valve to rapidly depres-
surize the airplane. Cabin pressure
should equalize to the flight altitude
up to a maximum cabin altitude of
approximately 13,500 feet. All
smoking mate-rial should be extin-
guished. Refer to Abnormal Proce-
dures, USE OF SUPPLEMENTAL
OXYGEN.
Cabin Pressurization
Controller Failure
If cabin altitude is not being main-
tained, set the Pressurization Control
to MANUAL. Control cabin alti-
tude with the MANUAL toggle
valve. If not arrested by 10,000 feet
(CAB ALT 10k FT warning light on
and MASTER WARNING), don
crew oxygen masks.
If not arrested by 14,000 feet cabin
altitude, initiate an Emergency
Descent Procedure. Set Oxygen
Control Valve to MANUAL DROP
and ensure passengers are receiving
oxygen. Refer to USE OF SUPPLE-
MENTAL OXYGEN checklist.
If cabin pressure is maintained, the
amber fail indicator is illuminated
(probably loss of air data sensor input,
rendering the auto-schedule inopera-
tive). Select 9,000 ft Cabin Altitude
(9CA) on the pressurization controller;
or press the FL (flight level) button
and select the current Flight Level
Altitude.
Set the pressurization ALT Knob as
desired (FL or CA. Prior to Descent
set ALT Knob to CA (destination
pressure al200 FEET).
Cabin Door Not Locked
If the CABIN DOOR annunciator
illuminates it indicates failure or
improper position of one or more
door switches, and/or possible disen-
gagement of the lower forward cabin
door pin.
If the annunciator illuminates while
the aircraft is on the ground, correct
condition prior to flight. If in flight,
select Cabin Altitude to 9500 feet.
Reduce airspeed and set the PASS
SAFETY passenger advisory light
ON. Keep the Cabin Door area clear,
descend to a lower altitude, and land
as soon as practical.
