Performance checking

Signal Generator

pre-2003 model

7. Gradually reduce the Signal Generator power output
by turning the ‘ON-OFF/Level’ control anti-clockwise.

CORRECT RESULT

: The Function Checker bar graph should

show a corresponding decrease in indication to zero.

8. Reset the Signal Generator to full power using the
‘ON-OFF/Level’ control. Change the ‘Pulsed/Continuous’
switch on the Signal Generator to the ‘down’ position (pulsed).

CORRECT RESULT

: The Function Checker bar graph should

now be flickering to indicate a pulsed signal. The Signal
Generator audio tone will change from a continuous tone
to a pulsed tone.

9. Change the ‘Loud/Mute’ switch on the Signal Generator
to the ‘down’ position (mute).

CORRECT RESULT

: The Function Checker response should

remain unchanged but the audio output from the Signal
Generator should be quieter.
