This chapter describes only selected special equipment. Please see the complete instruction man-
uals, installation instructions and circuit diagrams from the manufacturer. Acceptances and entries
have already been made for factory-installed special equipment.

15.1

Bike Rack

V

Check load distribution before fitting heavy special equipment (see chapter 3.3).
The number of passengers may have to be reduced.

V

Do not use bike racks as luggage racks or ladders.

V

Fasten bicycles using the straps provided and check to see that they are secure after
you have driven a few kilometres.

V

Distribute the load evenly. Bicycles may not jut out beyond the maximum width of the
vehicle.

V

The bike rack is only to be used for transporting bicycles.

V

The gross weight specified by the manufacturer must not be exceeded.

V

The identification plate and rear lights must not be covered.

V

The maximum permitted payload is 60 kg.
