Maintenance

12.5.1

Checking the Fluid Level

Check to see if the hot-water heater can be switched off and cooled.

Check if the fluid level is between the marks "MIN" and "MAX" on the compensator reservoir
(Fig. 167).

12.5.2

Topping up Heating Fluid

Place the vehicle in a horizontal position to avoid the formation of bubbles. To top up, switch off and
cool the hot-water heater.

Switch off hot-water heater.

Unscrew panel.

Open the rotary lid on the compensator res-
ervoir (Fig. 167,1).

Slowly remove cover with circulating pump
upwards.

Check anti-freeze with an anti-freeze hy-
drometer. The glycol content must be 40 %
or correspond to a frost protection of -25 °C.

Fill water-glycol mixture slowly into the com-
pensator reservoir.

12.5.3

Bleeding the Heating System

Switch off hot-water heater.

Open bleeding valve (Fig. 168,1) and leave
open until no more air escapes.

Close bleeding valve.

Repeat this procedure at all bleeding
valves.

Check to see if the hot-water heater warms
up.

The optimum fluid level is reached
when the fluid in the compensator
reservoir is 1 cm above the "MIN"
mark.
