8.1.3 CUT-3 Opto Sensor
Your printer may have an optional CUT-3 configuration that will place the cut opto onto the cutter or tear
assembly.
On the printer’s serial number tag the opto field will show CUT-3. The opto sensors are responsible
for letting the printer know when it has paper stock loaded in the printer (load opto) and detecting the black
timing mark on the back of the ticket stock (cut/tear opto).

Using inert dusting gas (canned air) or equivalent blow air over the opto eyes (see below photo).

Once the opto eyes are cleaned, install the print head back into the printer
4. Restore pressure to the head by closing the cam lock lever so it locks in place.
The printer is now ready to be put back in service.
