Replacement of Engine
1. Follow the steps in section 6 Mechanical Parts for changing the engine.
2. Disable encryption, ref. 4.40.3.2.
3. Reprogram the serial number, ref. 4.23.
4. Import the user settings if available, ref. 4.47.2.
5. Setup DICOM if relevant, ref. 4.29.
6. Activate Windows if relevant, ref. 4.44.
7. Enable encryption if relevant, ref. 4.40.3.1.
8. Perform a safety test of the scanner according to section 7 Preventative Maintenance .
9. Check system performance using section 3 Checking Procedure .
10. Make sure the sure the system configuration is updated on the BK Ultrasound Service
Web.
Reprogramming the Serial Number
To Reprogram the Serial Number after Replacing the engine:
1. Ensure the system is running in Service Mode.
2. From the Service Desktop , select Start Console .
3. Follow 4.4 to change the Windows time and Time Zone if required.
4. Restart the system.
5. Follow 4.15 and take note of the system serial number ( License ID). If it must be
changed, continue with the rest of the instructions. If no change is required, the task is
complete.
6. Exit the Console application by pressing ALT + X.
7. On the Service Desktop open Janus Toolbox .
8. Type hwm (1) and press enter .
