Repair using Spare Parts
With a few exceptions, which are listed in Table 4-7, all boards and modules which are
available as spare parts can be replaced with no additional tasks.
Before replacing a subassembly verify item number and
revision of the new part are
compatible with the item number of the defective part.
Note: Make sure to keep the scanner configuration updated on the BK Ultrasound Service Web
updated when parts are being replaced.
Refer to section 4.22
for details on the tasks to be completed once a part in Table 4-7 has
been replaced.

Tasks to Complete after Part Replacement using Spare Parts
Replacement of BIOS Battery
1. Follow the steps in section 6 Mechanical Parts for changing the BIOS battery.
2. Set the time and date, ref. 4.4.
3. Check the licenses are valid.
4. Perform a safety test of the scanner according to section 7 Preventative Maintenance.
Replacement of SSD
The spare SSD comes with a service software image which cannot be used for clinical
purposes.
1. Install the SSD according to the description in section 6 Mechanical Parts .
2. Install the software from a USB flash key. Software is available on the BK Ultrasound
Service Web. Follow the relevant installation guide for software upgrade.
3. Perform a safety test of the scanner according to section 7 Preventative Maintenance.
4. Import relevant settings.
5. Encrypt the Q drive if relevant, ref. 4.40.3.1.
6. Check system performance using section 3 Checking Procedure .
