Service Mode and Console mode

The scanner can be in one of two modes:

Console mode

and

Service mode

Console

mode

is the main mode which is used for clinical purposes where

Service mode

can be

accessed by BK Ultrasound certified technicians. Table 4-6 shows the differences between

Service mode

and

Console mode

. When the scanner is in

Service mode

File Explorer is

the shell and the user has access to the operation system. In

Console mode

the shell is the

BK Ultrasound Console with auto run and shortcuts being disabled.
In

Service mode

it is possible to open the

Console

application from the desktop and run it

with File Explorer as shell. Shut down the

Console

application using the

Service mode

button (ref. 4.18.1) or using an external keyboard (ref. 4.18.2).

CAUTION:

Always leave the scanner after technical service in

Console mode

. Only BK Ultrasound

certified staff is allowed to access the scanner in

Service mode

Entering Service Mode

1. Turn on the scanner and wait until the boot cycle is complete and boots in

Console

mode

2. Tap on the Tools button.

3. Tap on

SERVICE

4. Tap on SERVICE MODE.

5. Type in the Service Mode Password, chapter 4.28.

6. Press

7. The scanner will restart and boot in

Service mode

Note:

In cases where this procedure does not work it is possible to boot from a bootable device. This
is described in section 4.26.
