Kaleido-X
Release Notes
• add the internal router’s physical levels to the first level (i.e. [0] Video) of the KX
Router logical router, if you were previously using the now deprecated
Internal
router
logical router, and,
• if your external router control device or application uses the Snell (Pro-Bel) SW-P-08
protocol, then adjust its configuration so that it refers to KX Router’s logical router
matrix ID.
Refer to “Configuring a Multi-Viewer’s Internal Router,” in the Kaleido-X User’s Manual,
for more information.

[Ref. #25473/27240]
KMV-3901/3911 vs. VikinX Compact panels:
The Kaleido-X software
does not support using the
Network Compact
protocol for controlling logical routers
within a KMV-3901/3911 multi-viewer configuration. For example, a VikinX Compact
panel connected to the KMV-3901/3911 multi-viewer's serial port is not a supported
configuration.
•
KMV-3901/3911 vs. upstream router control:
In the case of a KMV-3901/3911 multi-
viewer system, changing crosspoints by using the
Assign [router] input
option on the
monitor wall menu—where [router] is the name of a logical router whose outputs are
connected to the multi-viewer inputs—, is not supported.
Workaround:
Configure logical sources (in XEdit’s
Channels/Sources
tab) for all your
upstream router inputs, and use the
Assign source to [component]
option on the
monitor wall menu, or the CHANNEL button on the Kaleido-RCP2 or RCP-200, to make
your source assignments.

Ineffective Lock/Unlock features in Matrix and Single Bus:
With the
current version of the Kaleido-X software, all Lock and Unlock features available from
the Matrix and Single Bus user interface are momentarily ineffective.

[Ref. #27112]
KX Router source mapping:
Although the multi-viewer’s physical inputs
appear in the list of sources that can be selected when configuring source mapping for
the
KX Router
logical router, they should
not
be used. Only logical sources (channels)
should be used in this context.
•
[Ref. #19920]
“Monitor Wall” physical level:
Although it appears in the list of physical
levels that can be added to any logical router configuration, the “Monitor Wall” physical
level should only be used when configuring the
KX Router
logical router.
•
[Ref. #23867]
Matrix and Single Bus support up to 8 levels:
The Matrix and Single Bus
client applications can display and control up to 8 levels in a logical router. When the
All
follow
mode is enabled, it applies to the levels that are visible in the application window
only.
Workaround:
To control a logical router with more than 8 levels, use a router-control
device or application that supports the required number of levels.
IMPORTANT
Managing physical sources from upstream routers as logical sources
within the multi-viewer system is the preferred solution for all multi-
viewer models.
With logical sources defined not only for source feeds that are connected
directly to the multi-viewer’s inputs, but also for physical sources that are
connected to an upstream router’s inputs, source assignment becomes a
completely transparent operation on the monitor wall.
