9 Port Configuration Tool

The TMG IO-Link Device Tool > V5 is a PC engineering software for

configuring IO-Link devices via the Belden IO-Link Master. The engineering

software communicates via UDP over the Ethernet interface of the IO-Link

master. Therefore no additional hardware neither a running real time protocol

is needed.
The tool can be used both as a standalone program or can be integrated via

TCI (Tool Calling Interface) in PLC programming software such as STEP 7

or TIA Portal.
The key technological element for the operation of the connected devices is

the mandatory IODD (IO Device Description) file.
The IODD is accepted worldwide. The Belden IO-Link Device Tool supports

IO-Link V1.0 (IODDs V1.0.1) and IO-Link V1.1 (IODDs V1.1).
Main functions:

Port configuration of IO-Link masters (without connected real-time

controller)

Operation and configuration of IO-Link Devices via IODD
