8B. Service

(2) Replacing the Variable Registor (for Right/Left)

To avoid electric shock, accidents or injuries to yourself or other people, or damage to the
electronic circuits, be sure to turn off the power switch before starting work.
Turn off the power switch of the machine. (See “8A-8-1 Turning the Power Switch On” on page 95.)
Remove the gun assembly. (See “8B-4-3(1) Removing and Installing the Gun Assembly” on page 121.)
Turn over the gun assembly and place it in a stable position with the gun base box on top.

Place the gun assembly onto a piece of air bubble wrapping, etc. to avoid scratching it when
performing the work.
Remove the Phillips pan head screw (with flat and spring washers) (M4 x 12), and disconnect the
ground terminal.
Remove the four flange socket bolts (M6 x 12), loosen the cord clip, and remove the gun base box
while pulling out the harness and connectors.
