Complete the Installation of the S8300
(if the Primary Controller)
Consult the planning documentation to obtain the necessary information to complete the
installation.
Part of the final process will be to:

Connect and administer test endpoints
●
Test the endpoints
●
Administer Communication Manager for trunks, features, networking, or other items
required by the customer
●
Complete the electrical installation
●
Enable adjunct systems

Backing up the system
To back up the system
1. Make sure you have the IP address of the customer’s FTP backup server.
2. On the S8300 main menu, select Backup Now.
The system displays the Backup Now screen.
3. Select the type of data you want to back up by selecting the appropriate data set.
4. Select a backup method, normally FTP, to indicate the destination to which the system
sends the backup data.
5. Complete the following fields:

User name
You must enter a valid user name to enable the media server to log in to the FTP server. If
you want to use the anonymous account, type anonymous in this field. If you do not want
to use the anonymous account, type the actual user name in this field.

Password
You must enter a password that is valid for the user name you entered. If you are using
anonymous as the user name, you must use your email address as the password. However,
the FTP site may have a different convention.
