Timer Section
Overview
The console timer allows the operator to determine elapsed
time of events. The TIMER SECTION consists of a TIMER
DISPLAY and a set of TIMER CONTROLS.
Timer Display
The TIMER DISPLAY, located in the METER BRIDGE,
shows the elapsed time in minutes and seconds, up to a maximum
elapsed time of 59 minutes and 59 seconds, after which the timer
will turn over to zero and continue.
Timer Controls
The timer has two modes of operation, standard and auto. By
pressing the AUTO button, the timer is switched between its two
modes, and the current mode is indicated by the AUTO button
light: in auto mode the light is illuminated, while in standard
mode it is not.
In either mode the S/S, RST, and HOLD buttons work as
follows. When the S/S button is pressed, it either stops or starts
the timer, depending on whether the timer is currently running or
not. Pressing the RST button resets the time to zero. If the timer
is running when the RST button is pressed the timer continues to
run after resetting to zero. If the timer is not running when the
RST button is pressed it resets to zero and stays there until it is
started again. While the HOLD button is being pressed, the timer
display freezes to show the time elapsed from reset to that point;
however, the timer itself continues to count, so that, when the
HOLD button is released, the display will jump to the new
elapsed time and then continue to show the updated count. The
HOLD button has no effect if the timer is not running.
In the auto mode, any faders whose selected sources have
been set up to activate timer restart will, when the fader’s ON
button is pressed, cause the timer to reset to zero. If the timer is
running, the display will again start counting up after the reset.
If the timer is not running, the time will reset to zero and stay
there until the timer is once again started.
