Fader Section
Overview
Each FADER SECTION is comprised of a SELECT BUTTON, four
BUS ASSIGN BUTTONS (PGM, AUD, MONO1, and MONO2), a
CUE BUTTON, a four character DISPLAY, a FADER, and ON AND
OFF BUTTONS. Operation of the following controls is described in the
“Console Operation” chapter.
SELECT BUTTON - selects an input for a fader.
BUS ASSIGN BUTTONS - assign the selected source signal to any
combination of the console’s four outputs: two stereo outputs - PGM
(program) and AUD (audition); and two mono outputs - MONO1 and
MONO2.
CUE BUTTON - places the signal on the console’s cue bus, where
it may be heard on the meterbridge mounted cue speaker.
DISPLAY - the four character display shows the input that is selected
by the fader. The display can also be made to show the current status of
the fader’s input with regard to its presence in the caller feed and mix-
minus outputs.
FADER - long-throw fader sets the signal level.
ON AND OFF BUTTONS - determine if the fader is ON or OFF. The
lighted buttons normally show the status of the fader.
If a fader is OFF, its signal will not be present in any main bus output,
regardless of the status of the BUS ASSIGN BUTTONS or the position
of the FADER. If the fader is OFF its signal will still be present in the cue
output if it has been assigned to cue. Presence of the signal in the caller
feed or mix-minus buses depends on the mix-minus status for that input.
All audio and control input and output signals are made via a multi-
pin DB-25 connectors mounted on the rear of the console.
