3.7. CHAIN SLACK DETECTORS
The machine is fitted with a chain slack detector safety system. The
lowering movement of the mast is stopped as soon as an obstacle
prevents the mast from lowering correctly. The operator is warned
of the danger and must before any operation analyze where the
source of detection of the chain slack comes from. He must then
raise the mast to retighten the chains.
- NB -
The following control operations must be made on each of the
sensors placed on each chain system.
CHAIN SLACK DETECTOR CONTROL PROCEDURE
- place a shim between the actuator and the sensor so as to activate the latter.
- check that no emergency stop is activated.
- the indicator light corresponding to the slack chain detection situated on the upper control box
must be lit.
- the buzzer must ring.
- the DOWN movement of the mast must be stopped.
- all the other movements must function normally.
3.8. OVERLOAD DETECTOR
The machine is fitted with an overload
detection safety system. Detection is
provided by a mechanical system.
When the overload is detected, all the movements of the machine are stopped. To reactivate all
the controls, the aerial work platform must then be unloaded until the buzzer no longer rings and
the indicator light corresponding to the overload detection, situated on the upper control box, goes
out.
