 SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL

28

DANGER

IT  IS  ESSENTIAL  TO  COMPLY  WITH
THE

ALARM

SIGNAL

AND

TO

ESTABLISH

MORE

STABLE

CONFIGURATION.
IN  CASE  OF  THE  MACHINE  TIPPING
OVER, THERE IS A RISK OF SERIOUS,
EVEN FATAL INJURY.

3.3. SAFETY

DEVICE

AND

ALARMS

3.3.1 EMERGENCY STOP

The machine is fitted with 2 emergency stop buttons:
- One on the upper electrical box.
- One on the lower electrical box.
Pushing one of these buttons cuts off the electric feed supply of the aerial work platform.

3.3.2 BUZZER

The buzzer is situated on the lower electrical box. It is activated by the detection of one of the
safety devices and by the push button situated in the upper electrical box.

3.3.3 INDICATOR LIGHTS

The light indicators are situated on the upper electrical box. Each one has an important meaning
that the operator should take into account, for these indicators are connected to the safety
devices of the machine.

3.3.4 SLOPE DETECTOR

3.3.5 CHAIN SLACK DETECTORS

The machine is fitted with a chain slack detector safety system. The
lowering movement of  the mast  is stopped as soon as an obstacle
prevents  the  mast  from  lowering  correctly  –  cages  placed  on  an
obstacle, poor adjustment of rollers, broken chains, etc...

As soon as the risk situation is detected, lowering of the mast
is  stopped.  The  red  indicator  light  of  the  alarm  corresponding
to the chain slack situated on the upper electrical box, lights up
and  the  buzzer  rings.

The  operator  is  warned  of  the  danger  and

must before any operation analyze where the source of detection of
the chain slack comes from. He must then raise the mast to retighten
the  chains.  If  the  phenomenon  persists,  do  not  continue,  and
immediately alert the appropriate  personnel to assist the occupants
of the aerial work platform.

In  work  position,  when
the  platform  is  inclined
at  2°  compared  to
horizontal, the detector
triggers the buzzer.
The

indicator

light

corresponding  to  the
incline  of  the  machine
situated  on  the  upper
electrical box lights up.

Triggering  of  the  alarm  signals  indicates  that  the  aerial  work  platform  has  reached  its  stability

limits. No function must be activated except those needed to bring the platform back to a more
stable configuration, in other words to lower the mast and retract the arm.
